The eukaryotic cell is believed to have evolved form the archea, which is best known for living in extreme environments that may mirror the first environment on Earth, being too hot, too salty, and or too acidic for the survival of most cell. Eukaryotic cell contain membrane-bound compartments in which specific metabolic activities take place. The most important among these compartment is the nucleus, which houses the enkaryotic cell's DNA. It's organisms also have other specialized membrane-bound structures called organelles.
